Niedziela rano. Gorąca herbata wyjątkowo pasuje do deszczu za oknem. Odpalam laptopa i widzę, że znajoma udostępniła post, w któr ym króluje hasztag #wartopomagać plus kilka innych, tak bardzo związanych z Wielką Orkiestrą Świątecznej Pomocy. Ciekawość kieruje mnie na forum pod udostępnionym postem. Jest wiele wpisów ludzi chwalących akcję, cieszących się tym wyjątkowym dniem. Niestety, znajduję na forum również wiele obrzydliwych komentarzy. Takich, których nie zamierzam tutaj przytaczać, bo moją rolą na pewno nie jest szerzenie teorii spiskowych i nienawiści. Mam w sobie głębokie przeświadczenie, że ci, którzy z takim zapałem hejtują WOŚP mieli dużo szczęścia w życiu i nie musieli patrzeć bezradnie na cierpienie swojego dziecka. Jestem przekonana, że gdyby (oby nie!) cokolwiek stało się ich dzieciom, porzuciliby ten pełen pogardy ton i biegusiem udali się do szpitala ze sprzętem zakupionym przez tych, którzy w pomaganiu widzą dobro. Nie ma na tym świecie takiego antagonisty działań Jurka Owsiaka, który – w imię głoszonych przez siebie teorii spiskowych oraz wypełniającej go po czubek nosa kpiny wobec „naiwnych głupców” wrzucających datki – odmówiłby ułożenia swojego bezbronnego wcześniaka w nowoczesnym inkubatorze zakupionym przez WOŚP.
W okna wciąż co chwila uderza wściekle deszcz. Włączam odbiornik telewizyjny. Widzę twarze wolontariuszy, zmarznięte, z policzkami okraszonymi rumieńcami. Z ekranu uśmiechają do mnie się ich oczy. Na którymś kanale telewizyjnym znajduję powtórkę materiału z telewizyjnego, wieczornego programu informacyjnego* dotyczącego małej, niepełnosprawnej Jagienki.

Jej cienki głosik ma moc. Zakładam grubą kurtkę i ciepłe, wygodne buty. Mała Jagienka nie może się mylić, #pomaganie jest dziecinnie proste.
Na starówce w Toruniu, mimo szaro-burej pogody, jest tłoczno. Ludzie chodzą całymi rodzinami, uśmiechnięci, odprężeni. Co kilka minut spotykam wolontariusza. Moją uwagę zwracają dzieci, które na przekór paskudnej pogodzie, czynią dobro. Często towarzyszą im rodzice, dorośli, którzy nie kryją swojej (słusznej!) dumy z latorośli. Znowu wracam myślami do małej, ośmioletniej Jagienki. „Dziewczynka w koronie” – dla mnie jeden z dobrych duchów WOŚP – jest rezolutną ośmiolatką chorującą na wrodzoną łamliwość kości. Mówiono na nią „księżniczka”, gdy w ubiegłym roku zbierała datki w szpitalu. Była wtedy po przejściu nowatorskiej operacji kręgosłupa (zabieg ratujący życie). Jej „koronę” stanowiła opaska wyciągu. Ubiegłoroczny finał podsumowała słowami: „Ten dzień był trochę męczący ale fajny”, przy czym najwięcej o tamtym dniu mówiły jej roziskrzone radością oczy.
Na ulicach miasta nie spotkałam się dzisiaj z żadnym przejawem wrogości wobec akcji Wielkiej Orkiestry Świątecznej Pomocy. Z nienawiścią już tak chyba jest, że boi się ludzkiej otwartości oraz życzliwego uśmiechu. Wszyscy ci, którzy przyłączają się do dzisiejszej akcji, dwudziestego siódmego już finału całorocznych działań, mają ogromny powód do radości. Dzięki nam część dzieci będzie miała zdecydowanie większą szansę na to, żeby ziściły się dla nich słowa małej Jagienki: „…żeby dzieci czuły się dobrze i nie chorowały”.
